Ingredients:
- 1 whole Bawal fish (clean and gutted)
- 5 shallots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 3 dried chili peppers
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of tamarind paste
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
- Salt (as desired)
- Lime juice (as desired)
Instructions:
- Blend the shallots, garlic, and dried chili peppers until they become a paste.
- Mix the paste with the chili powder, tamarind paste, turmeric powder, and cumin powder until they become a spice mixture.
- Marinate the Bawal fish with the spice mixture and let it sit for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven at 180°C (356°F) and bake the fish for 40-50 minutes until it's fully cooked. Alternatively, you can grill the fish on a barbeque until it's fully cooked.
- Squeeze some lime juice on the fish before serving to add some tangy flavor.
